A Resistance unveiled a powerful symbol of Ukrainian rebirth,“Phoenix,” at the annual Burning Man arts festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. A 26-foot-tall wooden box was set ablaze in the middle of Nevada desert to reveal a stunning sculpture of a Phoenix, inspired by the Ukrainian “tryzub” trident coat of arms. The Phoenix evoked strong emotions from supporters of Ukraine worldwide, receiving coverage from major outlets like CNN , DAILY NEWS and India Times.
The UA Resistance Team had the opportunity to host the U.S. premiere of Life to the Limit, a film depicting the harsh realities in Ukraine, at the Chicago Cultural Center. The event also included a live discussion with Pavlo Peleshok.
In partnership with various Chicago-based organizations, UA Resistance set up a cultural showcase in downtown Chicago. This space gave locals and visitors the chance to learn about Ukraine, sample Ukrainian foods, and shop for Made-in-Ukraine products. The C UKRAINE project was a huge success and proved to be a powerful tool for cultural diplomacy.
UA Resistance was honored to financially support the production of "Searching for Nika" film. We’re also incredibly proud that "Searching for Nika" was selected to participate in the DOC NYC film festival.
In collaboration with Sister City Library, UA Resistance had the pleasure of hosting Tim Mak, the founder of The Counteroffensive, a bi-weekly publication that covers the war in Ukraine through human-centered stories.
